A belated Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.  Sandy and I were fortunate to spend TG with Sandy’s parents, Courtney & Cam and our host Shannon & Bradley.  It was Shannon’s first Thanksgiving and she pulled off a good one.  With Covid and all the issues with the pandemic it will be hard for many families to find thanks this year.  For us there is lots to be thankful for…   Sandy being health is on the top of the list, no more cancer, Bradly & Shannon got engaged, Courtney has a nice boy friend in Cam and will be getting her MBA in just a few weeks and I got to spend a week with my parents in my home town.

We arrived at Bradley’s on Monday night (11/23), the next day we were on the bikes doing a gravel ride.  While it is flat compared to CA it is not easy.

On Wednesday we went to work in the yard doing Dad type stuff.  I know Shannon appreciated it, but I am not sure Bradley wanted to spend the day doing yard work.

Wednesday night we celebrated Courtney's 25th birthday with a little "pop up" calibration.

Thursday we relaxed with plenty of food and corn hole.

We also found some time for a walk at a local park and a few holes of Frisbee golf.  I never thought much of the game, but it was a lot of fun.  Next time we will be more prepared with a cooler of beer.

On Saturday morning (11/28), we said good-bye and headed south to surprise Bob for his 60th birthday party and a second Thanksgiving dinner.

Hard to see but the 2 boats are the original Caribbean Soul (Mako)
and the current Caribbean Soul (Grady White)
Shirt was a birthday present from his 3 boys.

On the way south we dropped Bessy off in New Smyrna Beach for a well-deserved rest – she passed 120K miles on the drive, given us a solid 5K miles so far for the trip.  Only 2 more times across the country before she can really take a break.

On Sunday (11/29), Sandy and I headed to New Smyrna Beach, landing at our condo around 3:30.  What a pleasure, relief, satisfaction and more to finally arrive. The first leg of our journey is done.  We will spend the next 6 weeks in the condo.  During that time, I need to get the details for the Key West ride put together and try to stay in shape for the CA to FL trip.

As side note, Bradley's yard is filled with birds.  Just a few shown below...
