Day 36: New Roads LA to Jackson LA
Today was intended to be a short day to get a bit more rest and avoid rain. It ended up that the morning hours were great for riding but by mid-afternoon the storms were back in full force. I finished riding around noon, and we checked into the Old Centenary Inn B&B in Jackson LA. The place is very well done with lots of old furniture and charm.

After a slow wake up this morning we timed the 26 miles ride so Sandy and I would arrive in Jackson LA about the same time.

Day 36 is set to be an easy one!!!
The highlight of the ride was crossing the Mississippi
River.  There was no sign tell us it was
the Mississippi, so I had to double check on Google.  The bridge we crossed was spectacular and the
river very wide.  I was thinking Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer the entire crossing.

Other than the Mississippi the ride was across small rolling, wooded roads. The ride was quick so this blog will follow the same…
Arriving into Jackson LA was nice...

Today’s ride was so short I did not eat or drink during the
ride…  we had a good lunch at the B&B
early afternoon.
Tomorrow is going to be the first of many days of 50~60 mile
rides until we finish.  The rain will be
hit or miss so we have both a camping and hotel plan for tomorrow night.  Lets hope the rain holds off and we can camp.
